Meet Erin

Hi, I’m Erin Kelly! I’m a Master of Social Work student and therapy intern at Yoga + Therapy for the Times.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and talk about what’s going on without judgment.

My approach is trauma-informed, meaning we’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing without making you feel like something is “wrong” with you. We’ll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, stress, and body while building practical tools to help you feel more grounded. Alongside talk therapy, I may incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, movement, and other mind-body practices when they feel helpful.

I’m also a 200-hour registered yoga teacher and bring my understanding of the mind-body connection into the therapy room.

I experienced the loss of a parent at 20 while navigating college and the challenges of early adulthood. I know how lonely and overwhelming that time can feel, and it has shaped the compassion I bring to my work.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You can show up exactly as you are, and we’ll start from there. I will show up with compassion, curiosity, and zero judgment. Let’s connect.

What a session looks like

Sessions are 50 minutes.

We might slow down and notice what’s happening in your body when something feels overwhelming or triggering. I may ask what you’re noticing, where you feel it, or what happens when we pause and make space for those feelings instead of pushing them away.

This kind of work can be quiet and gradual. We’ll start by getting to know you, your experiences, what you’re carrying, and what you hope to get out of therapy. From there, we’ll build at a pace that feels manageable for you.

You don’t need to know anything about somatic therapy, mindfulness, or nervous system work before you start. You just need to show up as you are.

I see clients in person in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood and through telehealth anywhere in Colorado. Most clients meet with me weekly or every other week, especially when we’re first getting started.

This might be a good fit if:

  • You’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what you’re feeling
  • You’re navigating grief or a difficult life transition, especially during your teens or early adulthood
  • You’re tired of overthinking everything and want to feel more connected to yourself
  • You’re highly aware of other people’s emotions and sometimes lose track of your own needs
  • You’ve tried talking about what’s going on but feel like you’re still carrying it in your body
  • You’re curious about mindfulness, somatic work, or the mind-body connection but don’t know where to start
  • You want therapy to feel collaborative, practical, and like a space where you can actually be yourself
